New Teachers at WAJ for 2007-08

 

Ms. Stephanie Cecelia is our new Spanish teacher. She lives in Saugerties and has valuable teaching experience from working in Newburgh, Andes and Catskill school districts. Ms. Cecelia is interested in bringing the Spanish language alive for her students and is focused on reinvigorating the WAJ Spanish Club. Ms. Cecelia holds a Bachelors of Arts in Latin American Studies from SUNY Plattsburgh, a Master of Science in Education from SUNY Potsdam, and various credits in International Studies from the Graduate Center of the City College of New York. Ms. Cecelia enjoys Latin American art, reading, and music. Buenos! Esperando con anticipacion a conocerte!

 

Ms. Karen Fritz joins the WAJ faculty most recently from Hudson City Schools, but she has also worked at Brooklyn Academy High School in Bedford Stuyvesant, New York. Ms. Fritz will teach Algebra and Math AIS at WAJ. In 2004, Ms. Fritz won the New York Public Library Teacher Award for her work in New York City schools. She has worked on various curriculum committees and attended TQLP Math Professional Development at the College of St. Rose. Ms. Fritz has a Masters of Science in Education from Pace University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from SUNY Binghamton.

 

 

Mr. Mark Imbierowic will teach English 8, English 10, and ELA AIS classes. Mark has eight years of teaching experience at John A. Coleman High School, Hurley, New York, where he taught ELA in grades 10, 11, and 12. Mr. Imbierowic has a Master of Arts in Teaching English from SUNY New Paltz and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Eastern Nazarene College, in Quincy, Massachusetts. Mr. Imbierowic is interested in Literary/Historical artifacts, Civil War History, and automotive restoration.

 

 

Mr. Michael Porter is the newest member of the WAJ social studies department. He will be teaching Advanced Placement US History, Regents US History, and Economics in 2007-08. Mr. Porter is a graduate of SUNY Geneseo and has Bachelor of Arts degrees in social studies, sociology, and adolescent education. Mr. Porter's interests include drama, acting, rugby, and karate. Mr. Porter has relocated to the Windham community.

 

 

Mr. Joseph Pudlewski joins the WAJ math department this September. He will be teaching Trigonometry, Geometry, and Math AIS. Mr. Pudlewski completed his Bachelor of Arts degree at SUNY Geneseo, finishing his student teaching in eighth and ninth grade classes in Rush-Henrietta and York school districts, located in western New York. Mr. Pudlewski's professional repertoire includes using technology in the classroom to stimulate discussion and learning. He is a member of the Association of Mathematics Teachers of New York State. He plays tennis and golf.
