Update from School Nurse

September 30, 2021

Dear WAJ Families,

Due to the ongoing presence of the Covid-19 pandemic, Windham-Ashland-Jewett Central School District is continuing with recommendations and policies set forth by the New York State Department of Health.  If your child/student is showing symptoms (whether vaccinated or unvaccinated), which are consistent with Covid-19, we require one of the following in order to attend/return to school:

  • A negative PCR ( molecular) test/ NO RAPID(antigen) TESTS
  • MD clearance with an alternate diagnosis
  • 10 days of quarantine

Furthermore, all medical and test results need to be reviewed prior to your child’s return to school.   The student cannot take WAJ transportation until you receive clearance from the nurse or school administrator via either email or phone.

These are very stressful times for everyone.  We work diligently daily to ensure everyone’s wellbeing.

If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to call or email me anytime.

Sincerely,

Gabrielle Gonzalez RN
